December is not an easy month…

December 27th, 2006 , 11:02 pm

Well, Christmas is finally past. I can’t wait for next year!  Erk, please hold, *rewind*, about the title….

What I mean to say is that it is not easy on me. If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen a blog entry in a while, it is because December is pretty well blacked out for me. I have six birthdays, my anniversary and Christmas to contend with, all in the same month. Not to mention the many different company and family events wrapped around the holiday season.  So… sorry (although I doubt anyone reads my blogs to begin with :D)

I made out pretty good this year. I got a few new XBox games — Silent Hill 2, Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland, and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. Woot. I don’t know when I’ll play them, and yes, they’re not the newest games on the market, but WHO CARES? I’m just glad I have a video gaming system to begin with. It helps when my sister stays the night and we have nothing better to do (that doesn’t cost money, anyways). I also got some new clothes from my mom, and a discount card to the fat-lady store. Yes, I’m a young fat-lady, but I’m working on reversing that title. I’ll do it, just wait and see. Sarel gave me a new laptop for Christmas - an HP DV9009, with 100GB hard-drive, 1GB RAM, 17″ widescreen, running Windows XP Media Center, built-in wireless internet access card, DVD RW drive with LightScribe! I’m just so happy I can barely keep my pants on!!  It’s just SO so nice!  Oh, with built-in webcam, stereo mics and a full numeric keypad too… hehehehe!

I also got a video game from Sarel called Evidence: The Last Ritual.  This is a warped, twisted, difficult, and intelligent experience.  This game utilizes flash components for the puzzles and you are the investigator. You don’t “play” one, like you’re pretending you’re Grissam on CSI and you magically know all the answers. You will have to use the internet and research stuff and come up with the answers to the riddles with sometimes very little to go on.  This game engulfs you, even to go so far as to have virtual players (characters) that will email you additional information or clues to guide you along.  They will encourage you if you haven’t played in a while, or provide information on The Phoenix (the bad guy) from the first game (Missing: Since January –  Evidence is a sequel).  I can’t really say it any better than the review can. Click the link above and you’ll get a detailed description of the experiences you’ll have in playing the game.  I’m about half-way through, and that is with me cheating and getting extra hints outside of the game. It’s like real work, but it just keeps you in the game, and you’ll either love it and get completely involved, or you’ll hate it and quit. I’m hoping that my husband’s brothers like this kind of thing, because when I’m done with it I’m sending them the discs (there are 3 install discs and a play-disc).

All for the low, low price of $20!!

Anyway, I also wanted to send a special shout-out to my kid sister, Sara — she’s officially 18 and I’m now OLD! Here is a sampling of her latest freedom:

That’s all for now, folks. Have a happy new year!
