i love the radio

On Friday, 10/27, I called in and won a prize from the radio. I failed to mention this before now because I only picked it up the middle of last week. This past Saturday I got the opportunity to use it. The contest is called the Mystery Movie Star. The DJ plays a movie clip, and caller 10 has to correctly guess who the actor/ess is. The first time I tried to call, I was caller # 2. The 2nd time, I was caller # 5. The 3rd time, it rang for a while, then went to busy - which I think is due to my cell phone. I called just one more time, and I was the caller. It was Julianne Moore in ‘The Forgotten’. I won 4 movie passes and a $50 gift certificate to a new restaurant called GrillSmith. It was fabulous!
The food was great, the service, the atmosphere…
I ordered the Mediterranian Salmon… topped with sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, feta cheese and a lemon basil butter sauce. MMMMmmm. so yummy. My sides were au gratin potatoes and a fresh side salad (with a raspberry vinegrette dressing!)… And I’m not a salad person… just by looking at me you would know that much. Everything tasted so gooood. It was well worth the hour drive to get there. And they have call-ahead seating, so there was no wait for a table. It’s a little on the pricey side (compared to our normal haunts like Cracker Barrell and such), but it was a delicious meal. Very fresh and worth every penny.
I look forward to going back. I can’t really write much more detail than this right now — I’m going to go watch Ugly Betty on ABC’s website. So addicted to this show, and really really really glad you can catch up online. I don’t get “local” channels at home. Taah!
